Legoland Toronto — formally the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre at Vaughan Mills — is the GTA’s only indoor LEGO-themed attraction, and one of just 30 in the world. The 35,000 sq ft facility houses 10 themed zones (the MINILAND showcasing miniature Toronto landmarks built from 3 million LEGO bricks, the 4D cinema, two interactive rides, the LEGO Friends Heartlake Mall, and a build-your-own-creation Master Builder Academy), making it ideal for kids 3–10. Located inside the Vaughan Mills shopping mall (1 Bass Pro Mills Dr, Vaughan), Legoland Toronto is 25 minutes north of downtown by car, accessible by GO Bus, and combines easily with a Vaughan Mills shopping trip or a Canada’s Wonderland day. The “no adult-only visits” policy is unique to Legoland Toronto and most LEGOLAND Discovery Centres globally — the centres are designed as family attractions and require accompanied children. The exception: the monthly Adult Night events (announced on the Legoland Toronto website).
Inside Legoland Toronto: the 10 themed zones
1. MINILAND
The flagship Legoland Toronto exhibit — a 1,200 sq ft scale model of Toronto built from 3 million LEGO bricks. The CN Tower (1.5m tall), Casa Loma, the Toronto Islands, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Distillery District, and Nathan Phillips Square are all faithfully recreated. Kids 4+ love spotting the moving cars, trains, and ferry boats. Allow 20 minutes.
2. Kingdom Quest
The headline interactive ride — a 4-minute laser-shooting adventure where families ride a “knight’s wagon” through medieval LEGO-themed scenes, shooting at goblins and trolls. Best for kids 4–10. Expect 20-minute waits during peak.
3. Merlin’s Apprentice
The pedal-power ride that requires kids to pedal their way to higher altitudes — the more they pedal, the higher they fly. Excellent low-stress thrill for kids 4–8.
4. 4D Cinema
The 70-seat 4D theatre runs short LEGO-themed films with wind, water, and snow effects. New films rotate every 6 months — recent runs have included LEGO Movie shorts, LEGO Friends adventures, and LEGO Star Wars 4D. Best for kids 4+.
5. Master Builder Academy
Daily build-your-own LEGO challenges hosted by a “Master Builder” instructor. 30-minute sessions; kids leave with their builds. The single most-requested zone return.
6. LEGO Friends Heartlake Mall
Themed for the LEGO Friends product line — with a hairdresser, juice bar, and stage. Particularly popular with kids 4–8 who love the LEGO Friends mini-figures.
7. LEGO Racers Build & Test
Build a LEGO car and race it down ramps. Highly competitive — kids 6+ love the “modify-and-retry” engineering loop.
8. DUPLO Farm
Soft-block DUPLO play zone for under-5s — a quieter area for the youngest visitors. Toddler-perfect.
9. LEGO Pirate Adventure Island
The newest zone (added 2023) — a soft-foam pirate ship climbing area with slides and a treasure-hunt theme.
10. The Big Shop
Toronto’s largest LEGO store outside the official LEGO Stores. Pick-a-Brick wall, exclusive sets, mini-figure customization. Kids will absolutely want to stop here on the way out.
How to get to Legoland Toronto
By car
30 minutes from downtown via Highway 400 north, exit at Rutherford Road, follow signs to Vaughan Mills. Free parking in the massive Vaughan Mills lot.
By GO Bus
The GO Transit 47 bus runs from Square One Mississauga to Vaughan Mills. Trip time from downtown via TTC + GO: 75–90 minutes. Less convenient than driving.
By TTC
Take Line 1 north to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station, then the YRT Vaughan Mills Bus 4 to the mall. Trip time from downtown: 60 minutes.
Combining Legoland Toronto with other attractions
Vaughan Mills shopping

Canada’s Wonderland
Just 10 minutes from Vaughan Mills, Canada’s Wonderland is the obvious paired attraction. A 2-day Vaughan combination (Wonderland on Day 1, Legoland Toronto on Day 2) makes sense for families with kids 6+.
Bass Pro Shops
The 200,000 sq ft Bass Pro Shops at Vaughan Mills is itself a mini-attraction with a giant aquarium, animatronic animals, and a fudge shop. Free; kids love it.
Best time to visit Legoland Toronto
Best days
Monday–Friday during school terms. The centre is busiest weekends and during school holidays (March Break, summer). Weekday afternoons (1pm–4pm) are typically calm.
Worst days
Saturday afternoons during winter (parents bringing kids indoors), spring break weeks, and Christmas holiday week. Expect 1+ hour wait for popular zones.
Booking online vs walk-up
Online tickets save $4–$6 per ticket and guarantee timed entry on busy days. Walk-up risks sell-outs during peak. Always book online for weekends.
Legoland Toronto: who should visit
Kids 3–5
The DUPLO Farm and LEGO Pirate Adventure Island are the highlights. Skip the 4D Cinema (too intense for some 3-year-olds) and Kingdom Quest (height restrictions). Allow 2 hours.
Kids 6–10
The full experience — Kingdom Quest, MINILAND, 4D Cinema, Master Builder Academy, LEGO Racers. Allow 3–3.5 hours.
Tweens 11+
Some find Legoland Toronto babyish; others love the building zones and the LEGO Racers Build & Test. Best paired with a Vaughan Mills shopping trip.
Adult LEGO fans
Without a child, you can’t visit (except on Adult Nights). The MINILAND alone is worth one of the monthly Adult Night events.
Practical tips for visiting Legoland Toronto
Annual passes
The Legoland Toronto Annual Pass ($60 child, $80 adult) pays for itself in 3+ visits and is a great option for local families.
Birthday parties
Birthday party packages ($30–$50/child) include private event rooms, host-led builds, and admission. Books 4+ weeks in advance.
Strollers
Strollers must be folded and stored at the entrance. The interior has limited stroller space.
Food
The on-site Café has kid-friendly menu. Better option: the Vaughan Mills food court (5 minute walk away) has more options.
Photography
Fully allowed throughout. The MINILAND Toronto skyline makes for excellent kid photos.
